UTAX GmbH is presenting a world first. The multifunction 540 fax unit combines the latest technology with some unique features.The unit is distinguished amongst other things by its simple operation. For example, recipients names can be easily entered using an alphabetical keyboard. The two-line display ensures the necessary clarity. Unlimited memory options Up to 250 fax numbers can be stored as standard. However, there is no limit to the scope of data that can be stored when using the optional chip cards. Up to a further 250 addresses can be stored on a single chip card, either as pure fax numbers or in conjunction with e-mail addresses. As a result of this, different departments can store their own fax distribution lists on separate cards and gain access to them at any time simply by plugging them into the unit. Each card can have its own sender identification. Other unique advantages The integrated colour scanner ensures the highest quality with its resolution of  600 dpi (interpolated). It therefore makes an excellent choice for the colour archiving of documents, amongst other things. The unit is suitable for sending SMS messages via the mobile telephone network. Texts are simply entered using the keyboard. It is also possible to send faxes to e-mail addresses via the Internet. For this purpose, the corresponding e-mail addresses can be stored along with the recipient's numbers. Increased productivity A 33,6 Kbps modem ensures that a page is transmitted in 3 seconds (ITU N°1). This makes light of the telephone bill. 12 pages per minute can be printed out and, when scanning, the unit can even manage 30 pages (b/w). Due to its compact construction, the unit can find room on any desk without difficulty. The original feeder holds 30 sheets. The machine is equipped with a 250-sheet cassette as standard, whereby it is possible to increase the paper storage to a total of 750 sheets using the optional second paper cassette.
